Despite the depressing weather this weekend, we got quite a bit of projecting done! We sanded the dresser all the way down & built a kitchen table. The table is a couple of coats of paint away from being finished & the dresser, oh the dresser. . . It’s no where near being done. After my complete craft fail on Friday, I’ve been second guessing myself ever since!

I totally appreciate everyone’s comments on what to do about my toilet-paper plastered, cub scouts craft disaster. I may give it another shot, but I’m keeping my eyes open for new lamps at this point. I’m also thinking about adding color to the living room, but I haven’t the faintest idea of how to incorporate it. There may be a reason why I got a C in my color theory class in college besides my hatred of guache paints. I might be seeking professional help soon.

There’s a big part of me that wants to just spend the whole day projecting & getting stuff crossed off my list, but now that Penelope seems to have given up her blessed 4 hour nap, progress has been slower than molasses. I feel like I’ve gone 90 miles an hour all day today & only have 50 yards to show for it. I’m getting really excited to show you my final product! In the mean-time, anyone interested in buying our old table?

I’m listing it for $20 (or best offer). Click here to see the classified listing.

    1. I’m sorry, I can’t see anything other than 4 hour nap. WHAAAAT?! My toddler has NEVER taken a nap longer than 3 hours (on the day of his 1st birthday when he fell, cut his cheek and had to go get it glued shut at the ER prior to the party). Normal is 1 to 2 hours. You have been a very lucky lady!

for real, your toddler took a 4 hour nap consistently?!?! That makes me want to punch someone. Not really :)

It’s hard to adjust when the napping stops. Anyway, I did well in color theory and didn’t like it either. Maybe you should start with pillows and small “pops” of color. Since we moved I’ve been transitioning the decor and colors in the rooms. I started by adding new pillows in the living room and then I added some paper garlands and decorations throughout the house. I even got bold and busted out the spray paint. So gradual steps toward commitment to new color.–And that’s BMerry’s advice of the day.

I can’t believe how much we always have in common. My husband is building a kitchen table right now as I type this! And I just came in from the garage putting on a last coat of paint on a an old dresser I’m going to put in the girls playroom. Crazy I tell ya!
