Printable: 2015 Thank You Cards

I’m so excited about this year’s Thank You Printable. Or should I say PrintableS, because I’ve teamed up with the fabulous Natalie Malan. We were in the same vender area at Pinners Conference two weeks ago when we came across this great idea. She’s amazing at watercolor florals and I can do some calligraphy, so we put our creative minds together and here we are!

The first design is a simple wreath with warmer colors. I played around with various banner ideas, but ultimately I liked the simpler text.

Each card can be printed as a postcard, double-sided (like above) or single-sided for a flat card to be mailed in an envelope.

Seriously, aren’t these florals beautiful!? Natalie sells prints in her shop and on Minted.com. You can also find a sweet watercolor kit (hello Christmas!) available in her shop.

The second one was screaming for an organic brush script so I played around with different styles. I chose this version of the text for the way the ascenders, descenders and flourishes play with the floral border. I like how the organic lines of the letters compliment the flourishes.

It’s that time of year again! Here’s another ‘Thank You’ card printable. I had a lot of fun with this one. I love the idea of making a wheat-inspired bouquet. Kind of reminds me of the fall harvest. Very indicative of the time of year around here.

I’ve been making lots of ‘Thank You’ cards for family and friends lately (so many things to thank them for!), so I thought I would make a printable that was in-line with the off-hand flourishes that I’ve been making lately.

The printable is a simple double-sided post card design that could be sent as a post card, or printed single-sided and used with an envelope for more formal sentiments.

I kept the design simple with just black and white line work. Embellish with sparkly pens, colored pencil, markers and more! Print out a bunch and let kids color and decorate at the Thanksgiving table! A great Thanksgiving-themed activity, if you ask me.

Inspired by this month’s entertainment theme for the Fiesta Movement, I wonder what does November mean to you? Is it full of food, family, movies and thanksgiving? Or is it just like every other month?

My November isn’t full of surf days and slow-mo photobooths (how brilliant is that idea?). The entire month took on a more spiritual tone when I was growing up. My mom really focused the whole month on gratitude and thanksgiving. Making sure the holiday wasn’t just some speedbump on the super-speedy raceway to Christmas.

I love that she protected Thanksgiving.

I want to guard it in my home, too. Christmas decor (not that I really have any) doesn’t show up until after our blessed Thanksgiving weekend. Neither does the music. Perhaps there’s so little Christmas music I actually like, I’d hate for it to be on repeat longer than 3 1/2 weeks.

How should we celebrate Thanksgiving? Is it just a day to be had towards the end of November where we eat more than we should have, nap and watch sports games? Or is it a day where we take stock in the life’s many blessings? I’ll be doing a little bit of both (minus sports, I don’t do sports).

I encourage you to spend some time this month (we could all spare a half hour once a week, right?) to write a heartfelt thank you to someone who has inspired or helped you. To make things easy, I’ve designed “Thank You” postcard for you to print from home. I’ve done half the work for you. All you need is a pen and a stamp.

This month I’ll be working on writing more Thank You notes and prepping for a meaningful Thanksgiving celebration. Having several of these postcards on hand will help me achieve that.

Lettered: Ruche Bridal + Giveaway

I had the pleasure of working on a project for Ruche’s recently published Bridal Guide. In it, I offer a free printable hand-lettered thank you postcard! I’ve made a few of these thank you post cards in the past (12345), and I can’t stress how handy they are to have around!

If I could give any advice to a couple planning a wedding, it would be to get a load of thank you postcards. They’re much less hassle and will make your thank you writing actually happen. Head over to Ruche to see their bridal guide (I’m on page 52).

I have to say, the calligraphy site is getting close! We have a few loose ends to tie up before the soft launch for beta testers! Seriously, it’s so darn close. Would you like to be a beta tester? I will be choosing 2 lucky followers from my facebook page to be beta testers. Head over to the ISLY facebook page for details on how to enter! Internation entries welcome. Contest ends Thursday April, 5, 2012.
