Refashion: Not-So-Mini Skirt

I found this little mini skirt in the junior’s section. It was super short, at least I thought so. I’m not one for wearing things too far above my knees let alone something that’s just below my rear. But I love the print! The skirt was on clearance for $4, so I had to have it.

I just measured, zipped up one side with the sewing machine and handed it off to Penelope. She loves the print and the length is great for her, too. At this length, Penelope can still do everything she loves, but her underwear still gets covered. We’re finding that Penelope + short skirts and dresses don’t quite work for Penelope much, as she sits with her legs uncrossed and hangs with boys almost every day.

I should really just make her little boy shorts to go under everything. Next week, perhaps.

    1. Love how she poses!!! The whole outfit is so cool.

Yep when I was a kid I wore little shorts under everything. It’s a great solution :)

Such a cutie, and oh, my, how about those shoes she is rockin’?? I like the longer length, nice change from the micro minis that scream “I’m imitating an under-clothed 18-year-old”, and her little poses make it even cuter.

But I’m waiting for your stylin’ Granny to be the featured cover girl!

    3. Love how she is totally on trend with the chambray shirt too. Adorable!

We have to put my grand daughter in boy shorts with skirts and dresses but for a different reason. She is 2 and she won’t leave her diaper on! If she were potty trained it would help but she just isn’t interested yet. She just wants her diaper off and she doesnt care what’s In it when she takes it off! You are so talented and I love your blog. Keep up the good work!

Very cute! Yes, we have a large stock of biker shorts and leggings for my three active girls who insist on still wearing dresses.

    8. so cute! I love the skirt/short combinations and buy those when I can. But I’ve also bought my little girl boy-short underwear that is super cute.

omigosh is she doing the robot in that last photo?! awesome. i just made a pair of bike shorts for Em to wear under skirts to school; it seems that age 4 is the one where those become necessary.

It was either that or crumping. She’s been pulling out all sorts of crazy dance moves lately.
